Donating for Haiti earthquake relief.

Here are a few legitimate places to donate for Haiti earthquake relief:

Food for the Poor.

International Rescue Committee. A very respectable world-wide organization.

Save the Children.

ChildFund International. Formerly Christian Children's Federation.

All the above have excellent ratings at Charity Navigator, showing that they do not spend an inordinate percent of their revenue on administration or fund-raising. The first two, Food for the Poor, and IRC, have very excellent 5-star ratings.

I'm also given to understand that 100% of donations to LDS Humanitarian Services go to actual programs/services/assistance, and that the church pays for all associated overhead.

I would suggest that it's best to give all funds to the Church's humanitarian effort as they are already on the ground there. If we are contributing as LDS it'd be good to have our funds recognized as being from the Church on the ground.
