Joy to the World DVD at gas station. Mon, Jan 24, 2011.
01/24/2011. 1269. I made a large purchase at a gas station, but I was about 40 cents short. I asked the cashier to take off an item, but she gave me the 40 cents out of her own pocket. I thought of how I could return the favor, and thought of a DVD. So I retrieved a "Joy to the World" DVD from the car and went back in and presented it to her, and she graciously and enthusiastically accepted it.
Labels: English DVD, gas station

It reminds me of a lesson I learned in mission prep: Often the best way to build relationships of trust is to let the investigator/neighbor serve you before you offer something in return. This is what Jesus did with the woman at the well: he asked her to draw him water first before offering her something even better.
