Shona at store. Fri, Jan 2, 2009.

01/02/2009. 1104. I was on the other side of town doing errands, and stopped at a dollar store to do some shopping. I met a man who was from Zimbabwe who spoke Shona. I offered him the Shona Book of Mormon that I had in the car, and he accepted it. When I offered the English edition, he said he already had a copy that he received from three ladies, who I assume were the sister missionaries who served in that ward.

I don't recognize accents, except for a couple. I almost always ask people where they are from, and what languages they speak.

a) Excuse me, where's your family originally from?

b) What languages do you speak?

c) Would you like a free book from my church in your language? It's religious, Christian, but it's free.
